14th September Opening Night
A warm welcome members to members old and new at our new venue. There will be a full introduction to the new programme, the Lucky Dip Challenge selection, and a chance to look around our new venue.
21st September Workshop evening no. 1
How to get those competition winners! The evening will be led by Sue Totham from Burghfield Camera Club. She will be demonstrating how to achieve those
" different " images, and how to develop the " seeing Eye "
28th September How did we do?
A review of last season's SCPF* results, the JPCR* competition, where we did well - and not so well. If time allows some of the images will be shown.

5th October The Idle Rich - Leo rambles on!
After a long break we welcome Leo back give us a presentation about his latest travels,in an interesting and relaxing evening.

19th October " Another World, Another View " - Ruari Cumming ARPS
Leaving the Hebrides behind we travel further afield, exploring other countries, spotting the interesting and amusing, the visually stunning, and the absurd.

9th November " Memories - a life of travel " presented by Audrey Olley
Audrey worked as an investment manager, but her lifetime hobby has been travelling, and at 84 she still goes on safari and gives many talks. This presentation includes images taken over 50 years, and covers her most memorable journeys.

Our club hosts this round of the PDI competition within our division of the Federation.

30th November Workshop evening no. 2
Image manipulation and post-processing. Our member Jason Carton, an experienced user of Photoshop, will demonstrate the use of the software. We will also look at alternatives. If time allows we will also cover printing and print mounting methods.
7th December An evening with Jeff Lawrence
Jeff is a regular visitor to the club as a judge. Tonight he will present an interactive and informative evening based around his own work, demonstrating his interpretations of portraiture, plants and macro, and a little about focus stacking.

4th January " Our journey in printing " with Mark and Judy Buckley-Sharp
Mark and Judy will tell us about their printing techniques, the equipment they use, and explain how their shots were taken, with many examples. An evening of interest to printers and would-be printers.

11th January Members evening - Personal presentations
Your chance to present your own work, whether an A/V show or a short talk on your favourite photographic subject.

25th January Member's evening - Lucky Dip
Tonight members will show up to 5 images of their Lucky Dip subjects, PDIs or prints. In the second half - " How did I do that? " - show us your unusual images and explain how they were obtained.
1st February Shoot a theme
Up to 7 images, size no larger than 7"x5" ( 18x13cm ) mounted on one board, telling a story or illustrating a specific theme of your choice.

8th February " From North Kent to North Finland ", by Robert Canis
A very special presentation featuring badgers, bears, owls and the aurora, among other things! Robert, an internationally recognised wildlife photographer, gives us this presentation at St. Andrews Hall, Caversham RG4 7PL. All local clubs have been invited to this prestige event.
15th February Print competition no. 3 ( set subject - Making the most of light ). Judge Martin Bethell
An opportunity to show what a difference light makes - contre jour , silhouettes,early, late - what can you do?
22nd February Practical evening
We only have one this season, so bring your camera and join in! We will have a portraiture setup ( with lighting ), still life, tabletop ( " packshot" ) setups, and possibly presentation / mounting demonstrations - more details nearer the date.

15th March Southern Counties Photographic Federation exhibition 2018 presentation
22nd March " What makes a good photograph ? " - Andrew Mills
Andrew takes an alternative view to the accepted norms of club photography.He shows us many other styles , and takes a look at what made great photographs historically. We look at composition, lighting and subject matter, with examples to stimulate new ideas.
28th March JPCR six club battle at Wallingford
This year Wallingford are the hosts, and the competition will take place at their venue at Crowmarsh Pavilion, OX10 8FN . Directions on their website - www.wallingfordphoto.club
29th March Straight from the camera!
A new internal competition to challenge members to find out how good images are without any post-processing ( i.e. no Photoshop, Lightroom etc. ). Only minimal cropping is permissible, so you have to " see " the finished picture in the viewfinder! It will be judged by members and there will be a token prize.
5th April Print competition no. 4 - ( Open subject ) Judge Caroline Colgate

12th April Brian Hodgson Trophy Subject - Aspects of People
Image featuring people - formal, portraiture, grabshots, what can you do? Up to 3 mounted prints per member. Images previously used in quarterly competitions may be used ONCE ONLY for this competition. Bring your entries on the night.
19th April Good Friday, no meeting
26th April Photograph of the year
Print and PDI competition. Total of 4 images per member ( maximum 2 entries per category ), selected only from this season's quarterly competitions. These do not necessarily need to be your highly marked images, just the ones the authors consider to be their personal best. Bring your entries on the night but please advise projectionist in advance of PDI titles.
3rd May Club auction a.k.a FLOG IT!!
Bring along all those valuable and rare items you have been meaning to sell , photographic or otherwise, and make a few pounds for yourself and the club. Who knows, Paul Martin may put in an appearance!
10th May Club discussion evening, Topics for AGM and SCPF selection
The evening will start with a discussion of issues prior to the AGM. Members will also make the selection of PDIs for next seasons League competitions. This is an important evening so please make every effort to attend.
17th May Annual General Meeting
Please come along to this very important evening, there will be matters to be voted on, a new committee to select, and a chance to discuss the club's future. If you have any specific items for the agenda, please let the secretary know in advance.
24th May Trophy presentation evening / end of season social
We conclude the season with presentation of the awards for this season's winners, with a presentation of the winning images. Please bring your prints if you have come first, second or third, PDIs will still be available on the club laptop. This will be followed by some refreshments to round off the season.
