SUBMISSION GUIDES, SET SUBJECTS AND EXTERNAL COMPETITIONS INFORMATION
1. Print submission guides
Prints should be mounted on card, without frames, and have a picture area of no less than 18cm x 13cm. Overall print size, including the mount, should not exceed 50cm x 40cm. Print entries must carry the author's name and be clearly titled using the labels provided by the club. which should be placed at the top right hand corner of the back of the mount.
2. Set subjects
This information supplements the necessarily brief information in the programme. The most important requirement is that the images should comply with the subject, please bear this in mind, as the judges will be briefed beforehand to comment on but not mark any images not depicting an aspect or interpretation of the set subject.
PDI set subject- Aspects of movement - Date 18/1/19
This is aimed at getting images depicting all types of movement, not necessarily those blurry images showing speed, but frozen movement, images where movement must be an integral part, i.e. walking, riding etc., even if the person, animal or object is temporarily stationary.
Print set subject - Making the Most of Light Date 15/2/19
There are all sorts of lighting effects out there, dawn and dusk, unusual effects caused by clouds, contre jour, silhouettes, spot lighting, special studio lighting effects. Avoid the standard, middle of the day sunshine lighting that is seen so much.

For this competition, the only requirment is that a person or persons must be the main subject. You can consider formal portraiture, candid child shots, grab shots, or that distant person that " makes " an outdoor shot.
The Summer Project
The project will be announced each season at the AGM, and the idea is to keep those cameras in use during the summer closure, and there will be an opportunity to show your results during the following season. Subjects may be a specific aspect of photography, or even the upcoming set subjects for the new season.
3. SUBMITTING YOUR IMAGES FOR EXTERNAL COMPETITION SELECTION
When bringing your memory stick in for Keith ( normally 2 weeks before the competition ) please make sure the file contains two copies of your image. One copy should be your image resized for projection ( 1400 x 1050 pixels ) the other should be your processed image, but original size. The original image title MUST be prefixed with X, e.g. X Joe Bloggs_Beach Scene. This is to enable the projectionist to easily sort out the large images being considered for external competitions.
Bring your print entries in as normal. We must also have POST PROCESSED BUT FULL SIZE DIGITAL copies of every entry, the sub - committee can then choose whether to enter images for PDI or for print competitions. Entries to submitted as for PDI entries, i.e. on a USB stick. Either submit these on the day of the competition or at a PDI competition. Alternatively, near the end of the season, submit all your entries for the season at once to the SCPF co-ordinator.
