( Digital Projected Images ), showcasing the best work from those clubs entering ( not all member clubs enter ). Although several of our members were able to visit the print exhibition, it is not practical to project the images at the library, so this Friday we had the chance to see them by means of a cd containing the images. In total we saw entries from 34 different clubs from across the south ( including our own ), showing how high the standard of work is within them. Most featured fairly high levels of post-production to enhance the work, and the highest-scoring images were of a professional standard. The images were judged by visiting club judges, effectively making the event an interclub competition as well as an exhibition. Alas our club was not among the " winners " - though our member Dorothy Wood scored a creditable 8.5 ( out of 10 ) for "thoughts of the Past ". The highest scoring image was by Scott Chappel of Poole CC with his image " Birdsong ", second was Joe Bogar of Fareham CC with " Defiance", and third Peter Read DPAGB LRPS with " Socialising at the Pub ". An inspirational evening for all members.
In the second half we held a light-hearted and ( mainly ) photographic quiz. Alas no member managed a top score of 20 ( or even 19 ) but our winner for the evening was Michelle van Asperen, newly returned from her travels - welcome back, Michelle!
