His love of cricket started as a pupil at Reading School, eventually resulting in his playing at a relatively high level in the sport, including at county level. A stint in the RAF gave him is interest in aircraft, during which time he was able to fly various machines, but a crash landing resulted in the end of his flying career. Having been given a Kodak Box Brownie by his father, he was already interested in photography so
now being land based, with the rank of Adjutant, he started a darkroom at the airbase.
On leaving the RAF he moved fully into photography as a profession, and particularly wedding photography, this providing the mainstay of the business. He also saw a niche in pet photography - on the grounds that not all pros had the patience to do it! Based on the South Coast for many years, he moved for a while to Cyprus, eventually returning to the UK and now living on the outskirts of Reading.
Of necessity this report can only cover parts of what was a most interesting evening -
