"establishment " was in Baker Street. As an ex-member of the original Reading Camera Club during the 1950 - 1970 era, David also reminded us that the club produced an almost legendary group of photographers, among whom were Joan Wakelin, Clive Harrison and Peter Grugeon, who went on to photograph many famous people, not least of which were members of the Royal family.
In the second half Janet, who recently gained her LRPS, took us through her application for the qualification, projecting her panel of images and explaining what is involved. Although she has been a keen amateur photographer for many years, it was only on joining our club that she gave any thought to
applying to the RPS in the hope of gaining a distinction, deciding that she would " have one go at it " ! She explained that presentation of you panel of images is important - her final layout took some while to decide on, and she explained her reasoning for the panel's content. As hers was a digital application she decided not to attend the assessment in Bath ( which applicants have the option to do ), but was surprised and pleased to hear that she had received the accolade. An inspiring evening showcasing the talent within our club.
