The first competition in of our quarterly print competetition saw a total entry of entry of 48 ( 3 each from 16 members ), and the judge for the evening was Terry Coffey, visiting from Gerrards Cross to do the honours. Terry's assessment of each image was based on pictorial content, technical ability and presentation. His comments were clear, decisive and to the point and not without a touch of humour, and the whole competition was completed in time for an early finish - a relatively rare event!
There was the usual wide range of subjects depicted in the prints as is the way with " open " competitions, from shadow patterns, tree frogs and Brighton Pavilion to flowers and sunsets. Several top marks of 20 were awarded, and in joint 1st position were David Sherwood and Bill Weaver, closely followed by Janet Marshall.
An interesting and informative evening for the print workers attending.
