The PDIs covered a very wide range of subjects, many featuring beautiful summer skies. In some cases the blue connection was a little tenuous, a shot of some blue cheeses caused some amusement, whilst others featured blue very strongly. We also had time for some members to show the results of a recent practical evening at the club, which consisted of various tabletop setups, and it was interesting to see the way different members recorded the same subjects.
In the second half, an opportunity was taken to look again and review most of the images that featured in RCC's recent round of the Southern Counties Photographic Federation league competition, against 7 other clubs. The judge's comments were fully discussed, agreed or disagreed with, with particular reference to his comments about excessive brightness in a lot of the images. The general opinion was that many of these images were rather bright anyway, but that we might benefit by reducing the projector brightness just a little.
Meeting attendance was fair, and very much a member's participation evening.
