Alan Copeland LRPS, the majority of the photos were taken by the late Doug Noyes, with additions by Alan. Presented with original accompanying commentary recorded by Mr. Noyes, we were taken back not just to the sixties but to the turn of the century, with both old Redingensians and newcomers to the town being amazed by the “ then and now” pictures. Dougs’ speciality was, however, recording the huge changes brought about by the arrival of the Inner Distribution Road, a project which involved the destruction of large parts of “ old “ Reading.
Sadly Doug Noyes passed away in 2002, but following an agreement with his widow Alan Copeland continues to ensure that his work is not lost. The evening consisted of parts 5 & 6 of Alans’ talk – we now look forward to seeing parts 1 & 2 again!
