27/05/2022 – Social Evening at Prospect Park Reading

The postcode for the park is RG30 2ND bordered by A4 London Road, Liebenrood Road and Tilehurst Road. Main entrance is in Liebenrood Road, parking a few hundred yards on the left along the main drive, or behind the Mansion House, up the hill. There is also limited parking at the edge of the park in Tilehurst Road. Photography in the park for those who wish to do so, then assemble in the Mansion House from 8p.m. We will be discussing possible future ideas for summer outings, so put your thinking caps on!

Meeting point:
Car park 3 (P3) in University of Reading (open and free) campus at 19:00 (7:00 PM)
Access via Shinfield Rd (A327) and Queen’s Drive. Nearby bus stops for buses 3, 8, 9, 21, and 81

Activity:
Meet at 19:00 at car park
Walk along path around Whiteknights Lake and university campus.
Debrief and refreshments at or before 21:00 at The Three Tuns pub (191 Wokingham Rd, Berkshire, Reading RG6 1LT) with car park on pub grounds or at nearby the RCC meeting hall (Early St Peter’s church – Church Rd, Earley, Reading RG6 1EY)

Thameside Promenade car park Reading (RG1 8BD) at 19:00 (7:00 PM). First 2 hours free.

Access: via Richfield Avenue or Caversham Road (A4155).  Nearby bus stop (The Moderation) for buses 22, 24, 42, 81, 800, X39 and X40

Activity:

  • Meet at 19:00 at car park
  • Walk along Thames Path, East and West of Caversham Bridge, Pipers Island and view on Fry’s Island, Christchurch Bridge
