Dorothy has been a member of Reading Camera Club for approximately 40 Years. During this time she has held the position of Programme Secretary and External Competitions Secretary. She has been a valued committee member and has devoted a lot of time and energy in helping in the success of the Club. Dorothy is greatly respected by all members and over the years has helped and encouraged many of them with their photography. Dorothy is a very competent photographer and did achieve her LRPS.

The certificate of being enrolled was presented by SCPF president Anne Eckersley.

Dorothy wrote to our members thanking us for nominating her for the honour.

This is just to say thank you very much to club members for my
nomination and certificate from SCPF  for long service to the club.
I have to say this was an absolute surprise and shock, and of course
I am delighted to receive it.  It was great to have it presented to
me at last night’s meeting by the SCPF president, Anne Eckersley,
who was visiting RCC anyway, she visits all or most of the clubs as
part of her presidential duties.  It was great to meet her for the
   first time.

Re the award, it is true that I have belonged to the club for more
years than I care to remember, from the days when it was SOUTH
Reading Camera club. I have held several positions on the committee
over the years.  For those who don’t know, we became Reading club
when the original Reading camera club folded, and  we were no longer
based in south Reading so became the only club in Reading.

Well, best wishes to all members, happy snapping,  and I hope to
belong to our great club for a few more years yet.
